Cooke, Lloyd R. – Obituary

Lloyd R. Cooke, 63, of 517 N. J. St., died Thursday [June 20, 1963] while visiting in Fresno, California. Born in Ellensburg, he had lived in Tacoma 30 years. He was a retired smelter worker and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Ancient Order of United Workman. He is survived by his wife, Betty; a son, Kenneth of Tacoma; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Keller of Torrance, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Charles Bull of Calgary, Alta.; and three grandchildren. Biography of J. C. Hickey

J. C. Hickey, of Santa Ana, is a native of Knox County, Tennessee, and was an infant when his father died. He was reared by his step-father, who moved to Alabama about 1845. At the age of fifteen years he left his stepfather, on account of cruel treatment, and started for California. He traveled on foot through Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. La Grande, Oregon Joanne Kaye Price, 73, died July 13 in her home in Hermiston. A celebration of life will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hermiston Church of the Nazarene. Mrs. Clara J. Noel, 75, died Friday [October 9, 1942] at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Pauline Stalcup, 634 North Oakes Street [Tacoma].
