James Leonard Oldland III, 76, of Central Point, died Friday, March 7, 2003, at Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford. His funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at the First Church of the Nazarene at Medford. Pastor Kevin Gowland officiated. There was a reception at the church after the service. Elgin, Oregon Leola Mary Baker, 83, of Central Point and formerly of Elgin, died March 27. A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Elgin Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Memory Gardens Mortuary of Medford. Mrs. Baker was born June 15, 1923, in Elgin, where she was raised. She married Delmar Baker, and they owned and operated a real estate business in La Grande. She was a member of Eastern Star and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #259 in La Grande. Elgin, Union County, Oregon Albert Cummings, age 68 years, 6 months and 22 days, passed on April 24 at Central Point, Oregon. He came to Eastern Oregon and settled at Elgin in 1891. Two years later he moved to Union where he made his home for 20 years before going to Southern Oregon. Merritt Wilkinson, brother of Andrew Wilkinson, of Union, died at Central Point, Oregon, Monday of this week. Interment took place at Central Point. Andrew Wilkinson, who recently returned from Central Point, was satisfied that his brother could not live, and the announcement of his death was not unexpected. Haines, Baker County, Oregon Zella Odelia Tally of Sacramento, Calif., formerly of Pendleton and Central Point, Ore. died suddenly and quietly on Jan. 6, 2006, after a short illness. Zella was born in Haines, Ore., on Aug. 2, 1905, to Henry and Ada Jane Williams Wallace an old pioneer farming family. She was 100 years old. On July 15, 1926, she married the late Eugene Tally. Hallock, Mary Peninger – Obituary

Mary P. Hallock, who resided at 8413 SW 14th Ave., died Wednesday [April 9] at a Portland hospital. A native of Central Point, Mrs. Hallock was 82 and lived most of her life in Portland. Surviving are her husband Joseph H., a son, State Sen. Ted Hallock, a sister, Bertha Pomerene, all of Portland; and a brother, William Peninger, Central Point. There will be no funeral.
