F. A. Baughman was born on February 18, 1853, in Mahaska County, Iowa. He moved to Cawker City, Kansas, in 1878 to pursue a career in the furniture business. Later, he established himself in Mankato, Jewell County, where he built and stocked a 2,550-foot furniture store. Known for his energy and enterprise, Baughman has successfully made his own way in life. He married Blanche Hambleton in Story County, Iowa, on June 13, 1877, and is a member of the Masonic fraternity.

Settling in Wichita in 1903, he became a vice president of the National Bank of Wichita and later focused on investment banking. Branch was married to Luella Brown, who was actively involved in community philanthropy, and they had a highly educated daughter, Hazel E.

Fix, Cora Johnson – Obituary

Mrs. Cora Fix, 72, of Orting, passed away at her home on August 2, 1946, after a prolonged illness. A resident of Orting since 1889, she originally hailed from Cawker City, Kansas. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Gladys L. Berry, two granddaughters, and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Orting M. E. Church, with burial following at the Orting Cemetery.
