Biography of Frederick Jones
Frederick Jones, born on October 22, 1875, in Illinois, moved to Kansas at age four and became a prominent figure in Blaine’s commercial life. After gaining experience as a clerk, he managed the Blaine Mercantile Company and later acquired controlling interest, establishing it as a key supplier in Pottawatomie County. A Democrat and member of the Modern Woodmen of America, Jones married Katherine O’Shea in 1905, with whom he had three children. His family roots trace back to early settlers and notable community contributions in Stephenson County.
