Mrs. Terry was born on Nov 6, 1927, at Baker City to Richard Wyatt and Blanch Combs Lane. She married Wallace Terry on Sept. 6, 1962, at Jerome, Idaho. She was a member of the Pythian sisters of Elgin. She also belonged to art clubs at Chino and Prescott Valley, Phoenix, Ariz. Esther Heggie Long, 88, a life-long resident of Baker City, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at Settler’s Park in Baker City. Grave side services for Mrs.Long were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Baker City. Bob Harrison of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints conducted. Interment followed the services. Mrs. Long was born Dec. 15, 1912, in Austin, Grant County, Oregon. She was the fourth daughter of six children born to Andrew Smith Heggie and Lavina Dolby Heggie. Harold Combs, 83, of Baker City, died Oct. 16, 2005, at the Veterans Hospital in Walla Walla, Wash. At his request, he will be cremated and his ashes returned to his favorite place near Bates. There will be no funeral. Harold was born March 19, 1922, at Austin to John and Margaret Combs. He was a World War II veteran.
