Mrs. Ralph J. Champ, 59, succumbed Sunday [October 2, 1955] at her home on route 1, Winlock. Mrs. Champ, born Sept. 22, 1896 in Arlington, Wash., is survived, in addition to her husband, by a daughter, Mrs. Lynne Pope, Algona; sister, Mrs. R. D. Campbell, Winlock; three brothers, Robert Wallace [Wallis], Spokane, and William and Hugh Wallace, Arlington, and three grandchildren. The deceased was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m., at the John W. Boone Chapel in Chehalis with the Rev. George Shuman officiating. Cremation will follow. Ferree, Albert J. – Obituary

Albert J. Ferree, 82, died Jan. 6, 2007, at Arlington, Wash. His private graveside service was Jan. 13 at Seattle, Wash. Albert was born at Union April 5, 1924, to George and Anna Ferree. He was raised in Baker City where he attended schools. Albert was just 17 when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was sent to San Diego for boot camp for eight weeks and as he finished, Pearl Harbor was attacked. He was assigned to the USS Nautilus submarine and sent directly to Pearl Harbor to help with cleanup. He spent 12 years in the Navy. … Read more

Burcham, Ruth – Obituary

Enterprise, Oregon Ruth G. Evans Burcham, formerly of Enterprise, died in Arlington, Wash. on March 28, 2006. She was 91. Mrs. Burcham was born in Duncan, Ariz., on Feb. 27, 1915 to John Evans and Minnie Lloyd. She was raised in Duncan, and attended high school there. She became a nurse’s aide in a Catholic geriatrics hospital. On November 14, 1931, Ruth married Orville Jay Burcham in Riverside, Calif. They had two children.
