Lostine, Wallowa County A resident of Wallowa County for 13 years died Tuesday October 15, 1912 at his home near Lostine. Asthma, from which he had been a sufferer for many years was the cause of death. Mr. Hammack was born in Kentucky in 1838. He married Miss Sarah Miller in 1856 in Wayne County, Iowa. They came across the plains in 1865 and lived two years in the Willamette Valley. Thence they moved to Union County, where they made their home at Summerville until they came to Wallowa County. Lostine, Wallowa County, Oregon Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Lostine Christian church for Mary Elizabeth Hearing, Wallowa County pioneer, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Otto Dolkey near Medford, May 29, 1929. Rev. Arthur Harriman of Wallowa conducted the services. A quartet, Mrs. Orval McArtor, Mrs. Roy Haun, Roy Haun and Chas. Bridwell, sang appropriate hymns, with Mrs. S.L. Magill at the piano. Lostine, Wallowa County, Oregon Elizabeth Cussins passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 4, 1926. She had been as well as usual, gathering the eggs Friday night and working about the house but Saturday morning when she failed to appear at the breakfast hour, one of her two sons, who were at home with her, went to her room and found that she had passed away.
