Theodore Stafford, 75-year-old hermit, was found dead in his cabin on his homestead, 12 miles from Richland, on Wednesday of last week. Heart disease is given as the cause of death. The funeral was held in Richland. North Powder News Saturday, March 5, 1927

Craig J. Stafford, 54, Glendale, a former Baker City resident, died of a heart attack on Oct. 11, 2007, at Glendale. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Burns Cemetery. Craig was born on Feb. 27, 1953, at Baker City to Ralph and Josephine Stafford. The family later moved to Burns. Craig was a graduate of Burns High School. Betty L. Stading, 79, of Baker City, died July 13, 2007, at the Settler’s Park Memory Care Community. Betty was born on July 22, 1927, in Indianapolis to Clarence and Iva Carlisle Walters. Betty worked for Boeing Co. for 35 years as a flight control rigger before retiring in 1989. Betty enjoyed hiking, fishing, and traveling. Survivors include her daughters, Carol Zurcher of Colorado and Diane Walker of Washington; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Richland, Oregon Mary E. Stacey, 92, of Richland passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at her home. Funeral Services were held at the Richland Christian Church on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004. Haines Man Killed At Cove Ore Cove, Ore., Feb. 26, Albert C. Springer of Haines was electrocuted Saturday afternoon while repairing electric transmission wires three miles east of here. The dead man had been visiting at the home of John Rutter, electrician, and when Mr. Rutter was called to town Saturday afternoon Springer volunteered to repair the wires which had broken and fallen to the ground.
