Durkee, Baker County, Oregon Durkee Man Is Fatally Injured In Auto Accident Sunday Kirk Baxter, a member of the Durkee ball team was fatally injured and died before reaching a hospital when an automobile containing himself and three others from Durkee left the grade near Pleasant Valley Sunday evening. Tom Moore of Durkee was the driver of the car and escaped with minor injuries. Jess Ackerman also a passenger, received a broken jaw, while Henry Norberg, riding on the running board jumped and escaped injury as the machine plunged over the 50-foot embankment.
