Richard Daniel “Dan” Bushek, 62, died April 21, 2009, at his home in Baker City.
His memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gray’s West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave. Shirley McLin of the Community of Christ Church will officiate. Friends are invited to join the family for a reception after the service at the Sunridge Inn.
Dan was born on Nov. 15, 1946, in Portland. He was the oldest of seven children. He served three years in the U.S. Army.
He married Sandra Endersby on April 13, 1973, at Vancouver, Wash. The couple celebrated 36 years of marriage this last week.
He worked as a welder, diesel mechanic and contractor throughout his life. Dan had retired in 2008. The quality and quantity of his workmanship and craft always exceeded others’ expectations, family members said. He always was driven to achieve perfection.
He was a selfless man and could always be counted on to volunteer to help anyone in need. His many friends can attest to his loyal and faithful friendship. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Dan enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, golfing, prospecting, traveling and working around the house.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy, of Baker City; daughter, Teresa Linde, and her husband, Bob, of Baker City; son, Brian Bushek, and his wife, Ahisha, of Molalla; six grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters in-law.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Bushek; and his mother-in-law and father in-law, Irene and and Lyle Endersby.
