The funeral service for Maxine C. Lee, Colfax resident, will be Friday, Aug. 6, at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of the Bruning Funeral Home with the Reverends James E. Doak and Charles Lyman officiating. Burial will follow at the Colfax Cemetery.
Mrs. Lee died Aug. 2, 1993 at the Whitman Convalescent Center. She was 72. Born May 9, 1921 at Troy, Ida. to Harry and Fern Campbell, she graduated from Troy High School in 1939 and attended the University of Idaho.
She married Robert (Bob) Lee at Moscow Jan. 25, 1942, and they lived in Colfax most of their fifty-one years of marriage. Mrs. Lee operated one of the first kindergartens in her home in Colfax. She was also a 16-year employee of Pioneer National Title Co., a secretary for several Colfax attorneys and the first secretary for the Council on Aging. She retired after 10 years with the Colfax office.
She was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. She was also a member of Altrua Club and had served as president. She enjoyed traveling and hobbies in the field of art.
Mrs. Lee is survived by her husband Bob at the family home in Colfax; one son, Robert Eugene Lee, Bothell; her mother, Fern Campbell, Troy; two sisters, LoRayne Sherman, Boise, and JoAnn Bennett, Vancouver, Wash.; three brothers, Warren Campbell and Howard Campbell, both of Spokane, and Bryce Campbell of Kellogg, Ida.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggest memorials be gifts to the United Methodist Church Building Fund, The Council on Aging or the charity of the donor’s choice.
