Barbara “Carol” Anderson of Joseph and formerly of La Grande died May 4, 2006, at home. She was 73.
Mrs. Anderson was born May 31, 1932, to Chester Duane and Blossom Lenore Waterer Hoskin in Agatha, Idaho. She was raised in the Lewiston, Idaho area and moved to La Grande in 1949. She moved to Wallowa County five years ago to be near her daughter and granddaughters. During her life she worked in various restaurants and at Hot Lake Resort for a time.
Mrs. Anderson loved the outdoors, gardening, and fishing. She enjoyed picking huckleberries, hunting for mushrooms and collecting driftwood. When she was younger she loved to bowl and was part of the Busy Bees Quilters group. She always enjoyed a good joke.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Eoff of Wallowa; brother Richard Hoskin of Island City; granddaughters Audra Burns and Tanya Burns, both of Wallowa; six great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held on May 12, 2006, at 3 p.m. at the Island City Cemetery. A viewing will be held on May 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 7th Street, La Grande, Oregon 97850.
A family dinner will follow at the Island City City Hall.
