Henry Holloway was born in Berkshire, near London, England. His parents were Philip and Charlotte (Tibble) Holloway, also natives of England. Our subject was reared and educated in his native land, finishing his scholastic course at the schools of London, He learned his trade of cabinet-making in England after attaining his majority and worked at it there until he emigrated to America in the month of March, 1854.
Mr. Holloway was married, in his native country, on the 24th day of December, 1S49, to Miss Ellen Castleman, daughter of William and Jemima Castleman, natives of England. Mrs. Holloway was born in Hampshire, England, March 7, 1824. They have six children now living: Henry, Fannie (now Mrs. E. P. Groves), William C., Edward P., Charles A. and Mary E. Himself and wife have been communicants of the Episcopal Church for more than forty years. He came to Jamesport in 1875, where he has resided and engaged in business ever since. He is a thoroughly capable, experienced and industrious business man.
