Baker City, Baker County, Oregon
Robert Alan Friedman, 53, of Baker City passed away tragically in an auto accident while pursuing his dream to build a nation-wide cabinet and wood products manufacturing company on Friday morning, January 21st, 2005.
Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at Gray’s West & Company Pioneer Chapel. Rev. Robert C. Irwin officiated. Friends were invited to join the family for a reception at Gray’s after the service.
Two years ago Robert moved his family to Baker City and established Blue Mountain Workshops, Inc. He worked enthusiastically at building the business with his wife, Valerie A. Friedman, son and daughter-in-law, and nine production employees.
Robert always had a desire to better himself and the people that surround him. He was central to the success of a variety of companies throughout his long and varied career as a scientist, engineer, salesman, and entrepreneur. However, most importantly he will be remembered as a devoted husband and father. His enduring commitment, tireless love and support, and patient guidance will always be treasured. His three sons and wife will always try to live up to his good name, and do him proud in every possible way. Robert taught those that listened, life is too short to not follow our dreams, explore our interests, and succeed in all possible ways.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie Friedman of Baker City; sons: Jeff Friedman and his wife Erin of Baker City, eldest Stephen Friedman of Baker City, and youngest Michael Friedman of Los Angeles, Calif.; brother Jeff Friedman of Walnut Creek, Calif.; sisters: Marla Burns of Lambertville, New Jersey and Jerra Gloss of Plainsboro, New Jersey; and his friend and companion, Zoey his beloved Mastiff. He will be loved and missed immensely.
Arrangements are in the care of Gray’s West & Company.
