Mrs. Clemens Dies At Hospital Here

Following several months of ill health, Mrs., Pearl Lee Clemens, of Wallowa passed away Thursday, November 21, 1957 at Wallowa Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for nine days.

Memorial services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. by the Booth-Bollman Funeral home at the Nazarene church in Wallowa, with the Rev. Harold E. Walker officiating. Mrs. Harold Walker was organist, and Virginia Sasser and Rachel Ann Sutphia sang “ What A Friend We Have In Jesus,” “In The Garden,” and “When The Roll is called Up Yonder.”

Vault entombment was in the Wallowa cemetery. Casket bearers were: Charles and William Fisher, Arthur Johnson, Logan Shell, Roland McCrae, and Donald Conner.

Mrs. Clemens was born April 9, 1892 in Indian Territory (Oklahoma), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Williams. She had lived in Wallowa County for the past 61 years. On June 30, 1911 she was married at Wallowa to James Clint Clemens who survives her. She was a member of the Nazarene church.

Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters: Mrs. Walter (Hattie) Short, of Seattle, and Mrs. Clyde (Francis) Bellamy, of Portland; two sons, Roland, Vallejo, Calif., and Edward of Wallowa; and seven grandchildren.
