Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at The Beatty Chapel for Robert Ellis Barron, 64, of Baker, retired lumber worker, who died Sunday morning at his home following a long illness.
Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pastor Joe Jewett will officiate.
Mr. Barron was born January 13, 1899 in Baker. He attended schools here and was graduated from Baker High School. He was married to Zellar Ann Heaton in La Grande December 16, 1946, and had worked for the Oregon Lumber Company in Baker for 38 years. Mr. Barron was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Baker.
Survivors in addition to his wife are two step-daughters, Allenne Tubbs, Carson, Washington and Mary Ellen Smith, Pittsburg, California; two brothers, Gilbert A. Barron of La Grande and Thomas Barron of Naselle, Washington; one sister, Mrs. Rilla Constable, Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
