Wilford Lovell Gover Jr., 66, Halfway, a longtime Pine Valley rancher, died Thursday, July 1, 1982, at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital.
A private family mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the St. Winifred Catholic Church in Halfway. The Rev. Richard Groves of St. Winifred Catholic Church will officiate. A graveside service with friends invited will follow in the Pine Haven Cemetery in Halfway.
Mr. Gover was born on Jan. 7, 1916, in Baker to Lovell and Nell Love Gover. He was reared in Pine Valley and in Eagle Valley. He married Helen Densley on Oct. 5, 1936, in Baker.
Mr. Gover was a Pine Valley rancher until his retirement in 1979. He was an honorary member of the Future Farmers of America and past president of the Baker County and Pine Valley fairboards. He was a school board member in 1964 and held offices on the Foothill and Posey Valley Ditch Co. boards.
Survivors include his wife, Helen of Halfway; three sons, Daniel of Enterprise, Gary of La Grande and George of Halfway; a half-sister, Barbara Barton of Halfway; his stepmother, Velma Gover of Halfway; and five grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Halfway Ambulance Fund through Grays West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave.
