Susanville Tragedy
John Haskell, who came in from Susanville yesterday just before we went to press, brought the news of a fatal shooting affray at that camp.
Geo. Snodderly, of the firm of Snodderly & Muldrick, operating on Deep creek, and Joe Frasier, a miner, formerly of Bourne, were the principals.
Snoderly’s daughter, who is employed at the Susanville hotel, was infatuated with Frasier. Her father tried to induce her to accompany him to Long Creek, when Frasier interfered, receiving for his pains a 45-70 rifle ball through his liver. Snodderly took refuge in a cellar and refused to surrender except to an officer. Sumpter News.
