Svetich, Steve Matthew – Obituary

La Grande, Oregon Steve Matthew Svetich, 89, of Portland and formerly of La Grande, died Nov. 16. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Portland. Arrangements are under the direction of Riverview Abbey Funeral Home of Portland. Mr. Svetich was born April 27, 1917, in Bingham Canyon, Utah. He moved to La Grande at age 12 and graduated from La Grande High School. La Grande, Oregon Corinne Josephine Svetich, 78, of Walla Walla, died June 29 at her home. A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Skyview Memorial Park in Pendleton. Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Svetich was born Jan. 4, 1928, to Charles and Francis Butler in Sacramento, Calif. She grew up in North Port, Wash., and graduated from La Grande High School in 1946. She took business courses at Eastern Oregon Normal School for two years.
