Back in 1915, Lucian Moody Kilburn, was engaged to write a history of Adair County Iowa by the Pioneer Publishing Company of Chicago Illinois, he then being at that time a resident of the county for 50 years. The manuscript was divided into two volumes. This volume, numbered 2, provides biographical sketches of 348 leading men and women of the County of Adair including many of its founding families. Schroder, Ada Tinkham Poskey – Obituary

Mrs. Ada Viola Schroder, 83, of Ellensburg, died at 8:30 a.m. Friday [May 2, 1952] in Ellensburg General Hospital. She was taken to the hospital 12 hours before following a stroke. Mrs. Schroder was born in Kansas and came to Seattle from there 64 years ago. She moved from Seattle to Ellensburg 11 years ago with her husband, August Schroder, who died here April 11, 1947. Schroder, August – Obituary

August Schroder, 89, well-known Ellensburg resident and retired Snohomish County farmer, died yesterday [April 11, 1947] afternoon at his home here. Had he lived until next Sunday, he would have been 90 years old. Born at Hamburg, Germany, April 20, 1857, he came to the United States when he was 27 years old and to Washington State in 1888.
