Biography of William J. Parkhill, M.P.P.

William J. Parkhill, born on November 27, 1839, in Tyrone, Ireland, is a prominent Conservative Member of Provincial Parliament for South William. Emigrating to Canada in 1855, he initially worked in lumber before establishing a successful business in Mulmur. He served in local government roles, including deputy reeve and reeve, before being elected to the Ontario Legislature in 1878. Parkhill is an influential party leader, a Presbyterian, and has six children with his wife, Ann Jane Crossley.
