Baker City, Oregon Mabel Louise Mattes, 72, a Baker City resident for the past 67 years, died peacefully at her home Dec. 11, 2004, in the company of Hospice Care and her loving family. Her memorial service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Baker City Christian Church 2998 Eighth St. Louise, affectionately known by her family as “DeeDee”, was born March 25, 1932, at Caldwell, Idaho, to Lloyd and Clara Cardwell.
