Katherine Mary Lott, 53, of Baker City, died Nov. 3, 2005, after a very courageous and long battle with cervical cancer. Her memorial service was Sunday at the Eagles Lodge. Kathy was born on Sept. 28, 1952, to Ervin and Virginia Burch at North Platte, Neb. She married John Leon Lott Sr. on Dec. 4, 1971, at Springfield. Together they had three children: Christina, Brian and John Jr. Kathy lived all over Oregon, including 10 years on the McKenzie River and the last eight years in Baker City, where she finally owned her own home. Corpl., 9th Anti-Aircraft Bty. Born in Henderson County; the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Lott. Entered the service June 23, 1917, at Hendersonville, N.C. Was sent to Ft. Caswell and from there to Upton. Sailed for France July 12, 1918. Stationed at Toul Sector and at Paris. Landed in the USA March 7, 1919, and was mustered out at Camp Lee, Va., March 24, 1919.
William R. Lott. A resident of Kansas since 1893, William R. Lott came to this state to secure feeding grounds close to the central market. He had for a number of years been extensively engaged in ranching in New Mexico, and is one of the men most familiar with the life of that former territory, especially of conditions there twenty-five or thirty years ago.
