David Kinkade, an 88-year-old Civil War veteran, passed away on August 13, 1931, at his home in Ellensburg. Mabel Kinkade, aged 86, passed away on November 10, 1981, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Originally from Bottineau, ND, she moved to Kittitas County at the age of five. Mabel married Dallas Kinkade in 1917, who died in 1951. A member of several community organizations, she is survived by her son Howard, daughter Lorine, six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will take place at Ellensburg’s IOOF Cemetery, with memorial contributions welcomed for chosen charities.
Mattie G. Kinkade, 87, passed away on April 11, 1967, in a Puyallup nursing home. A long-time resident of Ellensburg, she was originally from Texas, born on April 13, 1879. Following her death, her body was returned to Ellensburg via Evenson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be announced by Evenson’s, and she was interred at IOOF Cemetery. Martha was the daughter of David Hutson and Mary Crane.
Rawlin Madison (Roll) Kinkade, an 86-year-old resident of Kittitas Valley and the last surviving son of a pioneer family, passed away on February 16, 1955. Born in Denver, Illinois, in 1868, he moved to the valley with his parents in 1882. Kinkade farmed in the region for over fifty years before retiring in 1940. He is survived by his wife, Mattie, two sons, three daughters, and numerous grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at Evenson Chapel.
