Pvt., Co. 10, 3rd Div., 155th Depot Br. Son of R. L. and C. A. Hodgin, of Alamance County. Entered service July 23, 1917, at Burlington, N.C. Sent to Camp Sevier. Sailed for France Feb. 26, 1918. Was a messenger boy while on front. Returned to USA April 1, 1919. Mustered out at Camp Lee, Va., April 12, 1919.

Private, Inf., Co. Med. Att. 323, 81st Div., 323rd Regt., Inf.; of Robeson County; son of J. W. and Mary C. Hodgin. Entered service May 28, 1918, at Red Springs, N.C. Sent to Camp Jackson, S. C. Transferred to Camp Sevier, S. C. Transferred to Camp Mills. Sailed for France July 31, 1918. Fought at St. Die. Returned to USA Jan. 14, 1919. Mustered out at Camp Lee, Va., June 26, 1919.

George R. Hodgin

Fireman 2nd (Navy); of Alamance County; son of Robert and Cinthy Hodgin. Husband of Lodie Hodgin. Entered service April 17, 1918, at Swepsonville. Sent to Norfolk, Va. Transferred to Pensacola, then to U. S. S. Alabama; transferred to U. S. S. Nashville, then U. S. S. Rondo. Mustered out at Norfolk, Dec. 9, 1918.

Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon J. S. Hodgin Dies, Father of Library John S. Hodgin, father of the Enterprise public library, died at a La Grande hospital Sunday morning, May 5, 1940, following a heart attack with which he was stricken about ten days ago.
