Early Settler Dies At Home In La Grande Rose Ann Grider, a pioneer settler of Union County passed away at her home at 504 Adams Avenue, last night. She was 88 years, 11 months and 22 days of age. Mrs. Grider is survived by her husband, W. T. Grider, her daughter, Mrs. Margaret Lovan, and by two sisters and a brother, Mrs. A. N. Pullin of Portland, Esther Grace of Silverton and Lowell Hill of Kelso, Washington. Professor John. J. La Grande, Union County, Oregon Dies Here, Victim Of Long Illness William T. Grider, 83, of 1908 Fourth street, retired farmer, died at 12:02 a.m., Sunday, February 20 after a long illness. He was born march 15, 1860 in Anderson county, Kentucky and had lived in La Grande since his arrival here 54 years ago. La Grande, Union County, Oregon Grider Laid To Rest Vetern Buried Yesterday With Family and Friends Attending Funeral services were said yesterday over the remains of Waitsville Grider who died early in the week. Three generations, descendents of the deceased, were in attendance at the funeral. Death resulted from cancer. Waitsville Grider was married to Minerva S. Beard August 1st, 1851, in Adair county, KY.
