Biography of Henry Drach
Henry Drach was born on August 4, 1868, in Cleveland, Ohio, to German immigrants Jacob W. and Maria Drach. After receiving his education in local schools, he trained as a machinist and worked for Standard Oil and Hughes Steam Pump Company. In 1893, he moved to Anderson, where he became the superintendent of the city’s waterworks upon its completion in 1895. A dedicated Republican and member of fraternal organizations, he was married to Agnes Ethel, who passed away in 1906, leaving one son, George Henry.
