Byron Bilyeu, 74, of Kingston, died Sunday at his home. Funeral services will be in Albany, Ore. He was born on Aug. 26, 1896 in Scio, Ore. He was a retired carpenter from the Southern Pacific Railroad and was a member of Junction City Lodge No. 128, F&AM; and the Multnomah Chapter No. 1, Royal Arch Masons of Salem, Ore. On Monday night at midnight [October 19, 1896] A. J. Bilyeu (Uncle Jack), a resident of Scio for many years, died at the residence of his son-in-law, Jesse Ray of Jordan. As a citizen, Uncle Jack was among our most substantial and trustworthy, always ready to accommodate a neighbor or friend he was respected by everyone. [Andrew was born in 1830 Sangamon Co., IL. Emery Leroy Bilyeu, an 18-year resident of Bend, died of natural causes May 1 at St. Charles Medical Center. He was 75. Mrs. Bessie Lenore Bilyeu, 67, wife of Lloyd R. Bilyeu, died unexpectedly Friday at her home. A daughter of Abraham and Jane Miller, she was born June 1, 1888 on a farm west of Jefferson in Linn County. She was married on June 2, 1909, and lived near or in Jefferson for her entire life. Mrs. Mary Jane Gumm died at her home here Friday [May 1, 1914] . She was born in Appanoose County, Iowa, November 9, 1852. She lived there until 1865 and then came to Oregon with her parents. The funeral will be held Oct. 21 for Inez B. Bilyeu of Eugene who died Oct. 17 [2004] of age-related causes. She was 87. Bilyeu was born Oct. 13, 1917 in Oilton, Okla., to Ora Claude and Edna Guinn Withers. She married Edward Bilyeu on Oct. 13, 1940 in Lebanon. He died Nov. 13, 1978. She moved to Lebanon in 1927, graduating from Lebanon High School in 1936. She and her husband opened an insurance agency in 1942 now known as Bilyeu-Mill Insurance. At his home in Scio, Oregon, October 18, 1901, with cancer of the throat, Peter Bilyeu, aged 64 years, 2 months and 21 days. Mr. Bilyeu had been sick about two years and he bore his sufferings without complaining. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Brenner on November 17, 1859 to them were born five children: Mrs. Nancy Morrow, Mrs. Laura Paul, Jeff Bilyeu, Evert Bilyeu, and Brenner Bilyeu all who survive him.
