Baker City, Baker County, Oregon Catherine A. Emlaw, 97, a former Baker City resident, died Feb. 29, 2006, at Portland. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 13th Street and Clay Street S.W., in Portland. Portland Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Catherine was born on Aug. 29, 1908. She was raised at Dickinson, N.D. She traveled to Spokane, Wash., for nurses training and graduated from Sacred Heart where she met and married one of her patients, Earl Emlaw, an engineer with the Great Northern Railroad.
