Ellenberger, Caroline Mary – Obituary

Mrs. Caroline M. Ellenberger, 74 years old, died Tuesday [June 15, 1926] at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Perry of Milton, she having been her daughter’s guest for several weeks. Mrs. Ellenberger leaves also one son, Albert of Pilot Rock, Ore., with whom she made her home; two other daughters, Mrs. Bertha Lightfoot, Sacramento, Cal.; Mrs. Jane Blanchard, Pendleton, Ore.; 27 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Bay, Stella Mae (Arnoldus) – Obituary

Stella Mae Bay, 84, a long time La Grande resident, died Aug. 24 in Tacoma Wash. Mrs. Bay was born March 24, 1902, in Summerville to Christian and Christina (Justinson) Arnoldus. She was a member of La Grande’s First Christian Church and the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. Survivors include her sons, Dean of Graham, Wash., and Howard of Hillsboro; sisters, Anne Leach of Live Oak, Calif., and Ellen Sanderson of La Grande; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Owen Neal Bleakman, 88, a longtime Baker City resident, died May 3, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Health Services. There will be no burial service. Inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. O’Farrell, Daniel – Obituary

Daniel O’Farrell, a resident of the State of Washington for the last 43 years, died Monday morning [March 2, 1914] at 4 o’clock in the Puyallup Hospital. He was 79 years old and was well known throughout the state. Mr. O’Farrell was born in Ireland. In 1870 he came to Washington, settling in the Puyallup valley at the junction of the Puyallup and Stuck rivers. Baker City, Oregon Harry Smith, 81, a 50-year resident of Morton, Wash., and a former Baker City resident, died Feb. 7, 2003, at the Centralia Providence Hospital. There was a private family service. Arrangements were under the direction of Brown Mortuary at Morton. Harry was born on March 1, 1921, at Portland to Harry and Ruth Spencer Smith. Arthur W. Bowman, 79, of 8726 Newgrove Ave. S.W., died in a local hospital Monday. He was born in Trempealeau, Wis. Mr. Bowman had lived here 43 years. He was a retired Tacoma Transit Co. employee. Mr. Bowman was a member of the Motor Coach Employees’ Union. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Mary Gordon of Tacoma and Mrs. Ida Wakefield of Parkwood; three sons, Charles R. of Coulee Dam and George and Arthur of Tacoma; nine grandchildren and a brother, George of Pierre, S.D. Graveside services for James B. Turner of Tacoma, Washington a former Haines resident were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday September 25, at the family plot in the Haines cemetery. Bishop J. LaRon Zundel of the LDS Church officiated. Vault interment followed. Arrangements were under the direction of Gray’s West & Co. Pioneer Chapel. Mr. Turn died Thursday at his home in Tacoma.
