La Grande, Oregon John Harold Williamson John Harold “Jack” Williamson, 70, of La Grande died Feb. 15 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in La Grande. Jack was born May 26, 1936, to Harold and Shirley (Thomas) Williamson in Albany. He graduated from Jewel High School and later from Western Oregon University with a degree in teaching. He married Sandra Allen from Portland Nov. 29, 1958, and they lived in Fossil. Union, Oregon Benjamin “Ben” Taylor Bare, 76, of Union, died Aug. 12 at the Elks Hospital in Boise. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Union Cemetery in Union. An earlier notice incorrectly reported a service time of 2 p.m. Viewing will run from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Loveland Funeral Chapel, 1508 Fourth St., La Grande. Grant Jackson, 72, formerly associated with the Dain manufacturing Co. in Ottumwa, died Tuesday [July 14, 1953] at the home of his son, Warren Jackson at Chugwater, Wyo. His home is in Pasadena, Calif. He was born in October of 1880 in the Fremont community. He moved from Ottumwa to Chugwater in 1912, going to Pasadena about 10 years ago. The following was clipped from the Pasadena News, of January 23. Frank C. Gibbons died early this morning at his home on the corner of Lincoln avenue and Russel street. he was 25 years of age and a member of both the Knights of Pythias and United Workman lodges. His daeth is a particularly sad one, since late last night his only child, a little son, died also, leaving the young widow alone and childless.
