Baker City, Oregon Wendy Marie Long, 41, of Baker City, died July 1, 2003, at her home. An informal memorial service will take place Saturday, July 12, at 10 a.m. at her home for anyone who wishes to attend. Disposition was by cremation at Gray’s West Pioneer Crematory. Wendy was born Chicago, and lived in the Detroit, Mich., area until moving to Middleton, Idaho. She attended Middleton High School and was a champion gymnast and member of the American Honor Society. Willard Hoffman Smith, 83, a former Sumpter resident, died May 26, 2005, at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Boise. There will be a memorial service for him at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Idaho State Veterans Home. There will be a second memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday at the McEwen Church near Sumpter. John David Griffin, 80, of Middleton, Idaho, died May 30, 2003, of natural causes. His memorial service was Wednesday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Caldwell, Idaho. He was born on June 14, 1922, at Durango, Colo., to James and Clara Logan Griffin. He served in the 104th Infantry Division during World War II.
