Robert T. Prewitt, pioneer of the Methow Valley passed away at 5 a.m., Monday, Sept. 15, [1946] at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Maude Allen [Twisp]. Mr. Prewitt or “Bob” as he was generally known to the people of the valley was one of the early pioneers, having first come here in 1887. He moved his family and established his home 2 ½ miles north of Twisp in 1890. He was a very public spirited man, giving much time in the building of school houses, roads, and ditches.
