Grand Ronde Pioneer Is Called By Death James N. McClure, a member of one of Grande Ronde Valley’s oldest pioneer families, died at Hot Lake, last Wednesday at about 6:45 o’clock, following a stroke of paralysis several hours previous. He was born Jan. 2, 1858 and was 69 years, six months and 24 days old at death. Practically all of his life was spent in Union county, on a farm in the Ladd Canyon community.
