Floribel Eddy McCoy, 80, of Irrigon, a former Baker County resident, died Nov. 22, 2004, at her home. Her memorial service was Nov. 29 at the Columbia View Community Church in Irrigon. Interment was at the Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Irrigon. Floribel, one of 11 children, was born on March 29, 1924, to George and Lucy Eddy at Malheur City, which at that time was an active mining town, now a ghost town. Hereford, Oregon Wesley Ernest Loverin, 86, of Hereford, died Oct. 31, 2002, at St. Elizabeth Health Services. His graveside funeral was at 1 p.m. today at the Unity Cemetery. John Hayes and Bob Skinner officiated. Mr. Loverin was born at Visalia, Calif., on July 4, 1916, to Orlen Wesley and Maude Britten Loverin. Hereford, Oregon Henry W. Koontz, 72, a Hereford native, died Oct. 24, 2001. His funeral was Sunday at the Burnt River Community Church at Unity. Mr. Koontz was born on June 2, 1929, at Hereford to William and Rebecca Koontz. He was drafted into the U.S. Army after high school and served his country in the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he returned to the Hereford/Baker area and married Roberta Stultz. His passion in life became music.
