Biography of Hon. John H. Anderson

Hon. John H. Anderson, born in North Carolina in 1826, moved to Missouri with his family in his childhood, becoming a prominent farmer in Stone County. He married Elizabeth Wright in 1848, with whom he had six children. After her death, he married Eveline Gobel and fathered four more children. A veteran, he served in the Home Guards and the Missouri State Militia during the Civil War. Anderson held various judicial roles post-war and is recognized as a pioneer in his community, embracing a Republican stance in later years.
