Elgin, Union County, Oregon Andrew Burnaugh, who was operated on Wednesday evening of last week for a bad case of appendicitis, died Saturday evening, notwithstanding the fact that his physicians did everything possible for him. Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church Monday morning, the discourse being delivered by Elder Mayfield. Elgin, Union County, Oregon Funeral Services for George Darr To Be Saturday Funeral Services for George Darr, who was born in Elgin in 1892, will be held Saturday, March 20, at 10:30 a.m., at the Elgin Nazarene Church. Mr. Darr died March 16 at the Veterans Hospital at Walla Walla Wash., at the age of 72. He had been in poor health for several years. Rev. Kirby, Werle – Obituary

Werle, the young son of Dr. and Mrs. Kirby, died July 14, 1906, from cholera infantum. Everything was done to save the life of the little one but to no avail. Werle was a bright eyed golden haired little fellow 2 years, 11 months and 24 days old, and his parents deeply grieve his loss and have the sympathy of the entire community. Elgin, Union County, Oregon Died 10 January 1988 Fern S. Guthery, 98, of La Grande, died Sunday at Valley View Care Center. Mrs. Guthery was born September 23, 1890, in Akron, Colorado, to James and Ada (Withrow) Stewart. She married Fred E. Guthery in Wyoming in 1920. The Gutherys came to Elgin from Wyoming in 1938.
