Deer Lodge County, established between 1870 and 1888, offered a rich landscape of opportunities with 6,500 square miles of natural wealth. By 1878, it boasted significant agricultural output, including 130,000 bushels of grain and 1,200,000 pounds of garden vegetables. Martin V. Tyndall was born on March 7, 1864, in Christian County, Missouri, to William V. and Hannah Tyndall.
