Enterprise, Oregon Vernon Becker, 83, passed away Jan. 3 at a nursing home in West Linn. Becker was born Sept. 15, 1921 in Calhoun County, Ill., and moved to the Northwest after his years in the Navy. Becker was a resident of Wallowa County for 35 years. He was active in Wallowa County Search and Rescue and in various horse clubs. In his retirement he and his wife traveled extensively through the United States, Alaska and Canada.
