(VII) Edward Graham Hayes, son of Dr. Joseph Byron (2) Hayes, was born July 12, 1862. He was a student in the old Canandaigua Academy, the Pennsylvania Military Academy, Chester, Pennsylvania, and Union College (class of 1886), Schenectady, New York. He is a. member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. After leaving college he spent a number of years in Colorado in the cattle business, and then spent some time abroad.
