Biographical Sketch of Jacob Harry

Jacob Harry, born in Preble County, Ohio, on January 14, 1816, was a dedicated farmer and stockman. He married Susannah Tobey in 1839, and they had eleven children, nine of whom survived. After living in Ohio and working as a brick mason, he moved to Callaway County, Missouri, in 1855, and subsequently settled in Humbolt Township, Coles County, Illinois, in 1856. Active in local governance, he served three terms as Supervisor of Seven Hickory Township and owned 167 acres of land.

Young, J.D. – Obituary

J.D. Young, 26, formerly of Baker County, died in a motor vehicle accident on May 30, 2001, in Callaway County, Mo. Born on September 8, 1974, in Las Vegas, he graduated from South Callaway High School in 1993. He worked at Schulte’s Fresh Foods and was known for entertaining nursing home residents. He is survived by his parents, siblings, grandparents, and extended family. His funeral was held at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with burial at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Biographical Sketch of William R. Minor, Jr.

William R. Minor, Jr. was born on May 1, 1855, in Callaway County, Missouri. In 1864, his family joined the Big Missouri Train to the Grande Ronde Valley, settling near Cove. After marrying Jennie Beggs in 1878, he farmed in Wallowa Valley, moving several times and ultimately purchasing a quarter section east of Wallowa in 1899. A dedicated farmer and community member, Minor actively supported local education and maintained strong political interests, earning the respect and admiration of his peers.
