Nellie Frances Gray, 91, formerly of Union County, died Tuesday, May 25, 1993, of natural causes in Spanaway, Wash. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at Unger Funeral Chapel in Silverton. Interment will follow in Belle Passi Mausoleum in Woodburn. Mrs. Gray was born Sept. 25, 1901, in Lenox County, Iowa, to George Washington and Alice Mae Wiley Lemon. The family moved to Lynden, Wash., when she was very young. Her father died there when she was six, and her mother moved the family to Union, where she received her education. Mrs. Anna Dale, sister of Simonis brothers and who came to the Wolf Creek district with her parents in the pioneer days, died last Sunday, the last day of the year in Baker at the age of 73 years. Deering, D. Y. K. Dr. – Obituary

Union, Union County, Oregon Dr. D. Y. K. Deering, an old-time resident of Union, well and favorably known in Union and Baker counties, died at Long Beach, California, March 18, 1927. His funeral was held March 20, interment was in the Long Beach cemetery. Dr. Deering was one time Sheriff of Union county, and a prominent figure in eastern Oregon politics. Mrs. Osie Deshaver Died Last Week In California Mrs. A. Willis last week received word of the death of her sister, Mrs. Osie Deshaver at Oakland, Calif., which occurred January 6. North Powder, Union County, Oregon Jacob Thomas Hobbs was born July 25th, 1839, in Battes County, Missouri, and died at North Powder, Oregon, Sunday morning, May the 25th. A post mortem examination showed that death was due to cancer of the liver. When a boy of 13, Mr. Hobbs went to California making the trip by way of Cape Horn. Gibbons died early this morning at his home on the corner of Lincoln avenue and Russel street. he was 25 years of age and a member of both the Knights of Pythias and United Workman lodges.
