Death Takes North Powder Woman – Leaves Infant and Three Other Children Motherless Mrs. Mark A. Turner of this city died at the Protestant hospital in Baker yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from illness following the birth of a daughter January 23, 1931. Her condition, it is said, was not considered serious until last Sunday when Dr. Blakely of Baker was called. On Monday an ambulance took the patient to Baker and in the absence of Dr. Blakely, Dr. Barlett was called. Elgin, Oregon Julius Bendshadler, 85, who had recently made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Fred Huffman, in La Grande, was buried Sunday in the Highland cemetery, following a funeral service at the Elgin Christian Church.
