MOTHER OF SIX CHILDREN DIES
Mrs. Homer Compton, Age 36 Years, Victim of Pneumonia Early Today
HOLD FUNERAL SATURDAY

Mrs. Alta Compton, age 36 years, wife of Homer Compton, trustee of Hendricks township, died at the Major Hospital at five o’clock this morning of pneumonia. She was taken to the hospital on Memorial Day and her condition had been critical for the past several days. Carl Robert, one-year-old son, is ill at the present time with pneumonia.

Mrs. Compton was born in Shelby county on October 21, 1894. Her marriage to Mr. Compton took place on February 4, 1913, and six children were born to them. The deceased was a member of the Bengal Christian church.

Besides the husband, three sons, John William, age 17 years, Hugh Albert, 13, and Carl Robert, one-year-old, and three daughters, Etha Juanita, 15, Mary Bess, 8, and Betty Jean. A foster sister, Mrs. Louis Day, of Marietta and three cousins, Mrs. Raymond Bass, Mrs. Dallas Updegraff, and Mrs. Ralph Carson, all of this county, also survive.

Funeral services will be held at the Bengal Christian church at ten o’clock Saturday morning with the Rev. Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in charge of Carmony Brothers. [Buried Second Mt. Pleasant Cemetery]
