Funeral services for John Boyd Olin, 65, Entiat and Wenatchee pioneer, will be held from the Jones & Jones Chapel, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The Rev. George Pratt of Entiat will officiate and the Entiat Lodge No. 261 I.O.O.F. will preside at the graveside. Burial will be in the Wenatchee Cemetery.
The following will serve as pall bearers: T. P. Cowan, Ed Cairns, L. T. Wisdom, George Worby, Walter Cox, and Joseph Dixon, R. E. Patterson will sing, with Miss Carolyn Sterling at the organ.
Mr. Olin died at his home north of Entiat early Friday evening [September 28, 1945]. He came to Wenatchee in 1907 and was employed as an early day freight hauler up the Entiat and worked for Capt. Paul Stoffel on the steamboat in the early days. He was married to Nettie J. Staples at Colfax, Wisconsin in 1903. All of Mr. Olin’s children are here for the funeral services.
