Kimberly Dawn Fischer, 47, of Marysville, Wash., and formerly of La Grande died Sept. 9 at her home of natural causes. A service will be begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Marysville Senior Community Center, 514 Delta St. A memorial in Oregon will be conducted at a later date.
Mrs. Fischer was born April 22, 1959, to Donna and Jerry Martin in Pendleton. She attended school in La Grande, and married Randy McKinnis. On April 28, 2002, she married Craig Fischer. She worked in food and beverage management for many years.
She enjoyed rock and gem hunting, crafting jewelry, dancing and listening to jazz and the blues. She was an excellent cook and host, and enjoyed growing her own herbs, trying new recipes, writing poetry, reading and beging with her family.
She and her brother, Ray, spent their childhood summers with grandparents in Long Creek.
Survivors include her husband and stepson, Ethan, of Marysville; her children, Forrest Dean McKinnis of the Tri-Cities, Cody Lee McKinnis of Albany and Jerae Dawn McKinnis of Pendleton; her mother, Donna Amos of La Grande; three brothers and their wives, Ray and Paula Martin of Long Creek, Randy Amos of La Grande and Scott and Kathy Martin of Baker City; a stepbrother, Richard Amos; and other relatives. Her father died earlier.
