Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon

Helen B. Wagner passed away at the Wallowa Memorial Hospital on August 8. 1978, where she had been a patient for 16 days.

Born on February 17, 1907, at Elgin, Oregon, she was the daughter of Thomas A. and Amy Bills.

On August 24, 1925, she was married to Virgil A. Wagner at Payette, Idaho. He preceded her in death on November 9, 1974.

Mrs. Wagner was a retired J.C. Penny employee.

She was a member of the Christian Church in Enterprise, the Wallowa Valley Chapter # 50 OES of Enterprise, the Wallowa County Rock Club, AARP, Stitch and Chatter and WBA.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 11, at the Enterprise Christian Church at 11:00 a.m. with David McKay officiating.

Soloist was Judy Carr singing “In The Garden”, Accompanied by Maxine Kooch on the organ.

Pallbearers were Jack Wagner, Biden Tippet, Donald H. Davis, Leonard Whitten, Bill Barnett and Dean Gibbs.

Vault internment was in the Enterprise Cemetery.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Kim (Beverly) Edgmand and Mrs. Vernon (Dorothy) Hammack of Enterprise; Her mother Amy Bills Vestal of Redmond, Oregon; 1 sister, Mrs. Roger (Margaret) Sanford of Maupin, Oregon; 2 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, three great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter.

Those who wish may contribute to the Wallowa County Heart Fund c/o the Bollman Funeral home.

Bollman Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
