Mrs. Luther Moore Passes Last Night – Well Known North Powder Woman Succumbs Suddenly While Being Taken to Baker Hospital

The many friends of Mrs. Luther Moore of North Powder were grieved to learn that death came to her Thursday evening at 5:30 o’clock. She had been ailing some time, and was taken ill suddenly while visiting at the home of J.B. Wilson. Realizing the need of a physician’s services and none being available here, Mrs. Moore, accompanied by her husband, her mother, and Mrs. D.F. Cook, was taken to Baker but never revived, passing away peacefully. She had recently returned from Eugene with her mother, Mrs. Grace Kelsey, with whom she had stayed for a visit.

Edna Grace Kelsey, daughter of L.S. and Grace Kelsey, was born at North Powder Nov. 7, 1886. Her father was a prominent pioneer and a successful farmer and business man. She was married Dec. 5, 1904, to Luther Moore, who survives, as does her mother, Mrs. Grace Kelsey, Eugene, and four sisters, Mrs. William Hutchinson, North Powder, and three half sisters, Mrs. Laura Goff, Portland; Mrs. Lettie Wilson, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. violet Parker, North Powder.

Funeral services will be conducted at the North Powder M.E. church at 2 o’clock p.m. Sunday, August 5, with burial in the local cemetery.
