Corpl., 449th Motor Truck. Born in Lee County; the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Moffitt. Entered the service July 4, 1918, at Raleigh, N.C. Was sent to Ft. Thomas and from there was sent to Newport News, Va. Sailed for France Aug. 24, 1918. Returned to USA Aug. 16, 1919, and was mustered out at Camp Lee, Va., Aug. 26, 1919.
