Entered the service Nov. 30, 1917, at Norfolk, Va. Was sent to Cherrystone Naval Base Dec. 15, 1917. Transferred to U. S. S. “Mississippi.” Promoted to rank of Chief Dec. 24, 1918. On patrol duty. Mustered out at Norfolk, Va., April 14, 1919.
